WHY DO IT?
DO YOU ACTUALLY KNOW ANYONE WHO ENJOYS THIS INCREASE IN POPULATION AND DECREASE IN QUALITY OF LIFE ??
I cannot believe that there are actually people in this country who like what has been happening in the past few years; who are happy about the fact that our quality of life is going down rapidly. Personally, I don’t know anyone who is !
?? DO YOU KNOW ANYONE AT ALL WHO IS HAPPY ABOUT THE FACT THAT WE NOW HAVE:
- A growing number of crowded towns and cities, with many wonderful old, rambling houses making way for apartment blocks;
- many small parks being sold and trees cut down to also make way for apartment blocks (trees, of course, are vital; as trees clean our air and create oxygen. They also make the environment more beautiful and enjoyable);
- More people moving in to these developed areas, and more cars using the road, and with smaller houses and apartments and more traffic there will be more stress;
- an increasingly expensive infrastructure for the larger cities (I believe the cut-off point for a city is about one million) with constant increases in rates and costs, which is also very stressful, especially for young families or pensioners;
- more people are developing physical / health problems (and we all know that stress probably is the biggest cause of heart disease and cancer), and health funds and hospitals that seem to be coping less and less;
- a growing number of people suffering from mental health problems, especially amongst our young people, now that nothing in our environment is stable and safe anymore with constant changes that are happening incredibly quickly;
- more aggression and more violence because of the stress of living with so many people in such close proximity and in houses that are getting smaller and smaller
- more theft and other criminal activity; as cities grow larger there is increased anonymity and this always results in an increase in crime and an increase in crime whereby violence is used;
- and a present and next generation that can forget about home ownership near their place of work (and with this they will lose their sense of security and stability);
- and last but not least a vast increase in youth suicide; as our young people just cannot cope with the battle that everyday life has become in larger cities;.
The only people I have come across, who - at first - believe that this population growth is a good thing, are naïve business people, who think it will increase their clientele - until they, too, realise, that with a growing number of clients, comes a growing number of competitors.
There is only one solution: TO SLOW DOWN THE PRESENT WORLD POPULATION EXPLOSION and preferably bring it down till it is stable, which means: Zero Population Growth.
